PMEGP 2025: Updated Subsidy Rates & Application Process
Monday, July 28th 2025

PMEGP continues to be one of the most accessible entry points for micro entrepreneurs who need capital support to start a manufacturing or service unit. The 2025 guidelines refine subsidy treatment, documentation expectations, and bank appraisal practices.
Subsidy rates still differ by category of beneficiary and location (rural vs urban). General category applicants typically receive a lower margin subsidy than special category applicants. Always verify the latest KVIC/KVIB circular before finalizing your project cost.
A strong PMEGP application includes a clear business model, realistic cost estimates, market demand evidence, and a repayment plan the bank can trust. Incomplete machinery quotations and inflated cost estimates are common reasons for delay or rejection.
Work with a facilitation partner who can help prepare the DPR, guide portal submission, and coordinate with the implementing agency and financing bank. This reduces back-and-forth and improves sanction probability.
Once sanctioned, track disbursement milestones carefully. Keep invoices, geo-tagged photos, and utilization certificates ready so subsidy claim processing stays smooth after unit setup.
